Cookie Policy
What cookies and similar technologies this site uses, why, and how to control them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files saved on your device when you visit a website. Local storage works in a similar way. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we need your consent before we use anything that is not strictly necessary.
The three categories we use
- Necessary. Required for the site to work or for something you have asked for. They are always on and do not need consent.
- Analytics. Help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Off by default. Nothing in this category loads unless you opt in.
- Marketing. Used to show relevant content or measure campaigns. Off by default. Nothing in this category loads unless you opt in.
What we currently use
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| apv_consent | Necessary | First-party cookie that remembers your cookie choices. | 6 months |
| apv-reset (local storage) | Necessary | Saves your ticks in the Weekly Reset tool on your device only, because you asked for the tool to remember them. | Until you clear it |
| Analytics | Analytics | Analytics tools used only if enabled in cookie preferences. | n/a |
| Marketing | Marketing | None enabled at the time of writing. | n/a |
The optional categories load no scripts and set no cookies before you consent. If you opt in, the scripts load and the specific cookies are listed here.
Third-party fonts
The site's typefaces (Instrument Serif, DM Serif Display, Inter and Manrope) are currently requested from Google Fonts. This is a request to a third-party font service, not a cookie, but technical details may be processed by Google Fonts.
Manage your cookie preferences
You can change your choices at any time. Choosing "Reject optional" or switching a category off stops the related scripts loading from the next page view.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Guidance is available at aboutcookies.org. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
